Brambory uvaříme ve slupce, ještě za tepla oloupeme a nastrouháme na válu. Doprostřed vyklepneme vejce, osolíme a postupně přisypáváme prosátou mouku. Vytvoříme těsto, ne moc husté, jen tak, aby se nelepilo. Z těsta uděláme válečky o průměru asi 3 cm a nakrájíme na noky dlouhé 3 - 4cm, které uvaříme v osolené vodě.
